Large profitable mining companies will be never have their shares delisted - there will always be a liquid market for these shares. You cry crocodile tears because you express concern for all the grown-ups who own shares by free choice knowing they have the ability to sell at any time. And you display considerable naievete about the role of shareholders in large public corporations - on the somewhat shaky thesis that these institutions are democracies! Ask yourself whether GM or Bank of America are democracies? The horrible truth is that most public corporations are run by management. But as I've pointed out before, these same management people have large stock option positions so they have a vested interest in getting the stock price UP.
