What about it? Do you mean spread spectrum clocking, or are you talking about QCOM?

I think we agree that spread spectrum clocking is almost a cheat - a way of passing emissions tests without actually reducing the emissions. Everyone seems to do it now.

As for Xilinx et al not supporting RSL, I can see why. The Xilinx chips are very general purpose with configurable i/o cells. Configuring them for varying voltages and drive strengths and varying input thresholds is much easier than including constant current generator outputs for RSL. As soon as that is done, they become rather special purpose, a direction that Xilinx at least has strongly resisted.
