<< You frickin moron >>

Ahhhh, compassionate Republican eloquence, matched only by your understanding of the issues.

<< Clinton and Gore are the only ones who have abused the Constitution.

The Republicans had a witchhunt to get at Clinton, possibly with the aim of taking back the White House before Supreme Court Judges quit or expired. The Republican House majority abused their power and impeached Clinton totally illegally, IMHO.

History will prove me right. It may take a decade or so, but Clinton's impeachment will be eventually overturned.

I don't want to engage in name calling, but let's set the record straight on affirmative action. There is very little disagreement between Republicans and Democrats on AA. Outright quotas are illegal in state and federal programs. There is one exception:in particular circumstance where a quota is imposed to remedy a past proven discrimination, for example in a particular fire department. Even Antonin Scalia agrees with this exception. Clinton-Gore, and the federal government do not maintain quotas, as you assert, and I challenge you to identify a single one. What Democrats believe very strongly in however, is that programs should be designed to encourage diversity, and anything up to actually setting a quota or set-aside is perfectly legitimate. The fact is that Republicans practice the same, they just aren't willing to admit it. Through my work, I am quite familiar with the work of the Civil Rights Division of the Dept of Justice, and I don't think the work of the Division changed a single dot between the transition from Bush to Clinton. They pursued the same voter rights cases, sued the same municipalities and school districts for discrimination in education and hiring. At the margins, it is the Republicans who want to push for a more color-blind society than Democrats. But I want to ask you, do you have any problem with the fact that based on new color blind policies imposed on them that UC-Berkeley and UCLA have student population approaching more than 50% Asian?
