Dan,

Is it possible that Intel has not been completely forthcoming about Willy speeds?

Exactly - if the 1.3 P4 is equal to the 1.13 P3, they might as well fill that hole in the lineup and save the 1.5 for later.

It might help Dell/IBM/whoever with thermal solutions as well (not having to handle the 1.5s).

<Maybe Intel is taking, er, "advantage" of the MIA 1.13ghz cumine and has recalculated the lowest speed grade it figures it can offer without too much embarassment.>

Exactly.

The 1.3GHz P4 would have been embarrassingly slower than 1.13GHz P3. But since 1.13GHz P3 was recalled the 1.3GHz P4 is a go again. So much for the theory that P4s simply don't yield that low.
