Yeah, me too... :-)

But I figured they'd always cherish the moments spent together...rather than killing each other...! And I guess we can *talk* to her now...like normal talk about how her day was and what she was feeling - previously all we argued about was "DON'T hit your brother, DON'T push him, DON'T yell, DON'T DON'T DON'T". The boarding has allowed us to express to her that we miss her and are proud of her in many ways....and that was something which got buried under the DON'Ts earlier.

She's already a different person - much more accessable already..and in the end its not about us and our love for them. Its about them and whats best for them. Remember that line from Indecent Proposal ? If you love them, let them go. If they return to you, well you never lost them, if they don't, they never were yours anyway...

The strange thing is - school is much more strict than we ever were with her. No tank tops, no MTV, lights off by 9:30, chaperoned visit to the mall once a week, rooms, closets, tables inspected at random, laundry & dishwashing chores etc. Only $15 a week pocketmoney in which she has to manage a lot of stuff - no extras. My friends with kids in the boarding told me they learn to listen to authority, learn to share, become responsible etc etc...which was her problem, having been the only child for 9 years, she never had to do anything at home....she was used to being the centre of universe...still is..

School is just a few hours away...and we'll see...
