Hi Zeev Hed; Re: " probably just on RDRAM, since by then, as Carl is always reminding us, DDR will be "Dead, dead, dead" and SDRAM will be on its merry way out (g)."

Consider this post bookmarked. Start thinking of a witty reply for when I remind you about it next March.

Hi Zeev Hed; Back on Sept 22, 2000, you wrote: "It will be settled and settled before the end of next quarter next year, and Appleton is going to send tate a letter of apology, and tate will let him pay royalties, probably just on RDRAM, since by then, as Carl is always reminding us, DDR will be "Dead, dead, dead" and SDRAM will be on its merry way out (g)." #reply-14439546

"[E]nd of next quarter next year" has just passed by.

The cases are not settled, but Wall Street thinks that Rambus loses.

Appleton hasn't sent Tate a letter of apology.

DDR is not dead, dead, dead.

Micron isn't paying royalties on SDRAM or DDR, and still isn't making much RDRAM.

Elpida has announced that they are renegotiating their SDRAM royalty arrangement.

Intel has announced support for DDR, and motherboard makers have started receiving early samples.

VIA, ALi and AMD are all producing DDR chipsets in excess of the amount of RDRAM chipsets that Intel alone makes.

RDRAM still has no design wins in graphics, while DDR continues to dominate that market.

X-Box is still DDR, while Sony's Playstation 3 is rumored to use embedded DRAM instead of RDRAM.

Rambus stock has dropped from $85.50 at the close of the day you wrote the above down to $20.60 presently.

Any other predictions for the future?
