The media, inherently liberal, has a great deal of power. A few jokes here, a few sensational stories there and the sheeple go right along with it. Basically they just provide "bait" for news anyway.

Jim.. you forget.. this is Canada.. our populace is much more politically sophisticated.. <g>

Besides.. if you take a look...the majority of the media in Canada is of the "conservative" bent .. so that doesnt particularly wash either.

I think it also points out a very common American shortfall known globally...that we know very little about what goes on outside our borders.

And its singularly glaring on G. Bush because his father was a VP and a president, and he was exposed to politics and foreign diplomacy growing up. I think this faux pas reflects the man accurately.
