"Wu says Intel's real problem is AMD, which has been stealing market share away from it. That's especially been the case in the consumer market, where AMD has prospered with its popular Athlon chips. "

Comment: AMD never before has had this kind of analyst exposure...Think back one short year ago...Who'd have thunk to mention AMD in the same breath as INTC, let alone suggest that AMD is Intel's major problem...Gotta love it...And what's more, AMD is only just now stoking the consumer market...the very lucrative mobile, workplace and server spaces await AMD's assault in Q4 and throughout Y2001...Craziness is an AMD p/e multiple of 10 given 70% growth rate in Y2000 and probably 40% or more in Y2001...An AMD price revaluation will be swift, now that the INTC cat is out of the bag and INTC's inability to keep pace with the "spry Athy" is no longer masked by PR promises of future-if-ever viable competition in the top end...
