I don't think people have to worry about natgas being unavailable to heat their homes. The big commercial users will just be told to cut down or off altogether by the utilities in the same fashion as large industrial electricity users. Steel mini mills get told to pull the plug all the time on peak days. They plan for this stuff as it would be a mess if they had to shut down in the middle of a heat.

Now price paid is another issue. The local gas utility in minnesota is saying to expect 50% higher gas bills this winter, which actually seems sort of low to me but what do I know. -g-
