Can somebody briefly explain what's a dual band GSM phone ?? I know the most advanced ones are Tri-band, what is that ? I realised tri-band means you can receive three types of frequencies but I'm not sure about its significance.

Mang,
Today's announcement of RealVision deal to attach dual mode GSM system to PALM V also sends subtle a message to Nokia (NOK) which has been keeping quite though agreed to integrate PALM with its phone. Note that NOK is the undisputed leader of GSM handset. If NOK keeps quite or it wants to take its own time while building its own WAP phones, PALM cannot keep quite when HAND makes so much noise.
With SONY releasing soon and NOK announcing something soon will make our PALM very interesting.

Mang & Bill (a belated response re: Kyocera/PALM & CDMA; also somewhat OT): Supposedly, the Qualcomm PDQ-800 already works w/CDMA. It combines a PALM III with a cellphone keyboard that flops over the screen. I don't know anybody who has one, and I already carry a BAM/StarTac so until the ST breaks, I'm not sure I need another phone. The Bell Atlantic Mobile (aka Verizon's) website (www.bam.com) mentions the 800 for use on the BAM system, but the online store won't let you buy it (well, I couldn't get it into a shopping cart to check price). This is also "last year's" technology so I now have a second reason not to load up another pocket with more toys. 8-)

Regards,
Harry J.
