Mike, good to hear from you. Nice article about ATML. Wearing that scarlet letter called "semiconductor" arounds its neck like AMAT. In fact the ATML and AMAT chart look disturbingly familar.

I am trying to figure out how one know when the semis are at a bottom for their cycle. One I heard said wait until they go unprofitable and everyone dumps them. Another said wait until the PE is over 40. Just some thoughts to ponder. I have IRF as my only semi as the sector is ugly now with the INTC news.

Went to an early morning job in the tech area. Got to watch a cellular handset get formed today from zero to final product. I didn't get to see the IC board making process today, but have seen it before. Alot of manual labor involved. I can see why cell phone companies want a single chip to do it all.

One the hotter gadgets this winter will probably be colored phones that match an outfit. One woman today had a neat marblelized red and black cell phone. Also the sector is playing with Imac style see though phones and waterproof sealed rubber lined phones that look bright yellow and black. I got to believe that the Palm device and the phone will eventually merge into one. The debate is that people want smaller phones and Palms that have a mini-keyboard built in. Just no satisfying middle yet.

Nextell seems to be building a powerful base with thier month rate plan. Couldn't understand the details, but people like the fact that airtime is apparently unlimited. The way I understand NXTL strategy is to kill the WCOM and PCS of the world with flat fee like AOL did with their $19.95 a month a while back. I remeber glancing at NXTL red balnce sheet and passing and probably should brush up on it.

Also ATT and Mitshubishi are apparently gearing up to take on NOK, ERICY, and MOT in the cell phone wars. The beneficaries should be companies like ATML and RFMD.

Also, met people at lunch who had relatiions with diabetes. MNMD has insulin patch type product that may relieve insulin injections with an apparent 85% market share. Another one to DD.
