I think the north bridge of 840 has just under 500 pins. Not bad for a chipset that can support P3 Xeon, two RDRAM channels, and two "HubLink" connections to south bridges.

Yeah, Foster has about 600 pins on the processor. But then again, Foster is for servers and high-end workstations, so pin count matters less.
