Pls. don't bring Grappa... --- A guy I know is an enologist. The last I heard from him, he was all excited about making some Grappa. I used to hear from him with some regularity. I haven't heard from him since! --- I was talking to my wife, Yaacov (do you know what a 'Deadhead' is?). I was telling her about you and free polenta with shoes on in Ticino. She starts going off about how blue the water at Lake Lugano is. I thought she was having a flashback. She told me about her trip to Ticino 20 years ago and how you people have Cognac for freakin' breakfast. "Everyday - Cognac for breakfast", she says. "Giant vats of Cognac -- which is also used for flambe". I'm imagining her sitting in front of a flaming bowl of Cap'n Crunch. --- She was 16 when she was there. The relatives there gave her a giant box of chocolates. The pieces were loaded with Cognac. You know how Forest Gump's mother says 'life is like a box of chocolates - you never know what you're gonna get"? --- Well, you do in Ticino. You're gonna get DRUNK! That was 20 years ago. I swear -- she's still hungover! --- As I was going to sleep last night I was thinking of my cuckoo clock. I was thinking about fireproofing the cuckoo and retrofitting a resevoir of cognac inside of it, which douses the cuckoo in cognac. Then when the clock strikes whatever, a lighting mechanism strikes the cuckoo which then pops out through the little doors on FIRE! --- Wouldn't that be a more interesting clock? --- I'm going to look into that today.
