The market's resilient performance in the face of the Intel debacle continued
to illustrate that investors are content to rotate out of faltering stocks and into
other issues rather than liquidate their equity holdings. Another reason Intel's
warning of weaker third-quarter revenues didn't reverberate was that the
company isn't one of the Fab Five that now set the pace in tech: Sun, Oracle,
EMC, Cisco Systems and Nortel Networks. If one of those giants ever
disappoints, watch out.
