The more overt aspect of the manipulation was that Gore took the public stump to call for the swap just two days prior. The campaign advisors clearly saw this as a political plus for him to take credit out front. If they saw this as a negative, he would not have made the public call and could have reserved for himself the opportunity to distance himself from the action after the announcement.

Wow...Now capitalism is a Bush Republican.

Refineries operating at 93% represents great long term planning. To my thinking, the great environmentalist "gored himself"...So to speak.
