Some of the smaller regional mid-west refineries which were ill-suited for making EPA mandated reformulated gasoline have simply been shut down (e.g. Total refinery in Alma, MI)

"a large refinery in West Texas was sold to a company in Israel"
Apparently someone thought it had value, and I don't thing they're shipped refined products back to Israel.
Feel like I'm back in the ol' bidness, my daily entertainment was making the bubbas mad , seems to have worked around here .( my hair was a little too long and at the time hated country music and didn't dip, but my saving grace was I was a good athlete and they used to hire ringers just to play softball in those days).

" Before long, most of the US refineries will be owned by foreigners. "

You seem to have NATIONALISTIC tendencies, all industries are becoming MULTI-NATIONALS and a lot are owned by FOREIGNERS, come out of the CAVE we now have fire and the dinosaurs are gone. Well after reading some posts, ignore the last statement.
