Maybe I'm missing something here, but we seem to agree as you say, "The net effect is pressure (downward, correct?) on crude oil futures nothing else." In other words as I said an attempt at shaking-out speculators from the market.

From my perspective whether they can get it now, Sept. 23 or after Oct. 02 is beside the point...because they can't increase refining capacity. We know that...everyone knows that.

I was curious to know if you think the Rotterdam (?)speculators who are holding oil on the water will continue to do so?

>>>Just wonder how the market for heating oil will recover at a time there is amply supply on the sea but shortage in refinery capacity.<<

If heating oil futures are effected to any substantial degree by the SPR news they will recover with a vengence, because as we know the price of crude has little to do with the price of heating oil (at least at this point,) and has everything to do with refining capacity. In fact watching HO and gasoline futures will tell you alot as to whether or not this SPR gambit is working.

>>>As to your other comments, you are right but in certain instances if some low level administrator thinks you may pose a "danger" or will have to many followers you are dead meet. To untangle yourself from such a mess ruins your life. That's is how the system guards himself from outside critisism.

The only way to influnence is to build a strong enough group which as a group will bring up the short commings.<<<

Haim I think your fear (as expressed to sam o) for the average citizen who sends a complaint is exaggerated. They simply don't care...unless you make a blatant threat of violence against person/s of some kind or another. Otherwise, your just one of thousands/millions of complaining citizens who may or may not get any attention.

Here's what happens when they really care...here's what happens when you're a real threat.

Notice this scandal started under the Reagan Administration (contained a few characters from the Nixon Era) then extended right through the Bush and Clinton Administrations. Republican, Democrat it didn't matter.
