<<the selling intensity on this latest round of selling just wasn't at levels consistent with major bearish runs>>

That kinda selling will only come frome fear----- This selloff like all previous ones was met with intense buying... Strange how how the slavish greed buying moderates as stocks approach the previous days levels, wouldn't you think? Once the waters have been calmed, the ferocious topping of one's own bids diminishes considerably...
This reminds me of Greeny's rate cut on expiration afternoon, where fear was starting to get a grip---

Allthough heinz says the market is thinking 6 months out, I disagree--- What we saw yesterday, IMHO, was a deliberate attempt to postpone reality....BWDIK

I posted that before the action Friday, and while I still believe that we have witnessed a significant shift in the tenor of the market, Friday was eye-opening to any short willing to see what happened. *NO* money left the market on Friday - it just sloshed around, on the back of a genuine earnings nightmare. The "save" was so well choreographed that it was never in any doubt at all. The funds have it figured out that all they have to do is put the Clownbux to work on days like those to reinforce the fact that stocks don't go down.

This has confirmed for me that no serious downside progress can occur in the market until the Funds start seeing redemptions.

How far away is that? Not far. Wait til J6P starts getting this winter's heating bills with $40/barrel oil. And wait until the rush to placate the masses before the elections is concluded. There's gonna be one *serious* hangover from this extended party...
