Regarding the latest FUD attack, I believe the Bu$$ is going down this road!!!!

If you read this article (in my opinion FUD) entitled "NEC-Hitachi Joint Venture Reveals
Rambus Plans" located at:

electronicnews.com

wherein it is stated:

"The term used to denote the undefined DRAM (nDRAM) that appears on the
NEC-Hitachi forecast in 2003 is the same one Intel used to show RDRAM on early
Pentium 4 roadmaps three years ago, sources said. It could possibly represent
next-generation Rambus memory, analysts said."

and then read the press release entitled "NEC Signs New Licensing Agreements with
Rambus" located at:

rambus.com

wherein it is stated:

"Tokyo, Japan and Mountain View, CA - September 12, 2000 - NEC Corporation
(NEC) and Rambus Inc. (Rambus) signed new licensing agreements, including SDRAM,
DDR and next-generation RDRAM®. The agreements include the development of the
next-generation Direct RDRAM as part of a larger strategic alliance and a broader
licensing agreement between the two companies.

The next-generation 1066MHz Direct RDRAM will deliver a 33% frequency
improvement, over the current 800MHz Direct RDRAM, in main memory applications
and will continue to maintain Rambus' memory technology at the forefront of performance
in personal computers, workstations, servers and network equipment."

Then it appears to me that "nDRAM" IS the next generation Direct RDRAM and that
Rambus and NEC (including the NEC-Hitachi Joint Venture) will be partners for the long
term.

Michael,

The high bandwidths required for leading edge graphics cards will need to be serviced by embedded DRAM, like Sony does in PS2.
