Actually, I do agree that one can make that case, and that Sanger is pretty essential to 20th century social history. On the other hand, one cannot not teach the Civil War, which is crucial to the national history........

This is a blurb for an anti- Sanger book. It gives a flavor of what can be said against her:

MARGARET SANGER: FATHER OF MODERN SOCIETY
by Elasah Drogin

Founder of Planned Parenthood and the pro-choice, abortion rights movement in America.

"More children from the fit, less from the unfit"

"Birth Control: To create a race of thoroughbreds"

"The marriage bed is
the most denigrating infuence of social order"

"Free maternity care to the poor will encourage the healthier and more normal sections of the world to shoulder the burden of unthinking and indiscriminate fecundity of others...a dead weight of human waste"

"The maternity facilities for slum mothers are injuirious to the community and the race. Charity will only prolong the misery of the unfit"

"We do not want word to get out that we want to exterminate the Negro population"

Who said this stuff? The Klu Klux Klan?? Aryan Nations??? The National Socialist (Nazi) Party?? Think again! These are the words of Margaret Sanger (1883-1966), Founder of Planned Parenthood, the largest provider and promoter of legal abortion in the United States.

Did you know that eugenics was a form of racism popular among the intellectual elite in the 20's and 30's???

Did you know that abortion clinics were originally set up with the intention of slowing the population growth of black and others racial groups considered mentally or otherwise inferior???

Did you know that the founder of the largest abortion provider in the world was an avowed racist?

I have had a desire to get the word out about this incredibly informative and educational book for years. In case you don't know, Margaret Sanger was the founder of Planned Parenthood and the major force behind the abortion and pro-choice/abortion movement in America. If you think you know everything about what it means to be pro-choice or pro-life, think again! If you are proud of being pro-choice, I encourage you to read this book so you can know as much as possible about the person most responsible for the pro-choice/abortion-rights movement and abortion industry in the 20th century. If you are pro-life/anti-abortion, you owe it to yourself to know what you are up against.

Some quick quotes from Margaret Sanger
(as quoted from MSFMS):

"Lothrop Stoddard was on the board of directors (of Margaret Sanger's Population Association of America) for years....He had an interview with Adolf Hitler and was very impressed. His book, The Rising Tide of Color Against White World Supremacy, was written while he served on Sanger's board. Havelock Ellis, one of Sanger's extra-marital lovers, reviewed this..book favorably in The Birth Control Review" (p.77-78).

"In making her feelings known about (social works of) charity, Sanger again cleared herself of any suspicion of being a liberal: she criticised the success-- not failure-- of charity...She called for the halt to the medical care being given to slum mothers, and decried the expense to the taxpayers of monies being spent on the deaf, blind and dependent. She condemned foreign missionaries for reducing the infant mortality rates in developong countries, and declared charity to be more evil than the reasons, whatever they might be, for the poor to need aid in the first place. Sanger's thinking might have driven a true liberal to dispair" (p.120-121).

"Feeble-minded persons, habitual cogenital criminals, those afflicted with inheritable diseases, and others found biologically unfit should be sterilized or in cases of doubt be isolated as to prevent the perpetuation of their afflictions by breeding"--from the "Code to Stop the Overproduction of Children", Margaret Sanger, 1934 (p.71).
