Alpine's a jewel of a field for Phillips. And yes, VERY Lt crude.

API much higher than 42 degrees and you're getting into the range of NG condensate. Back in the 20s, operators could run their cars of some of the condensate they were producing! Of course 1920s autos could run on lower octane fuel than what we drive today.

Nonetheless that Apine light will produce a very high gasoline yield when refined. And there may be ALOT more of it in ANWAR. What a "PRIZE".

Looks like a real nasty ideological war is going to develop with radical environmentalists once most Americans realize there are no quick and easy gimmicks to stop the LT rise of pump prices.

The "green's" champion may lead in the polls now. But if he wins, he will be a one termer with his agenda and commitments. JMVHO, of course<g>.
