My reservation with Xbox is that it requires Microsoft to finish the software. Since they (at least at this point in time) are not just going to use an existing operating system, they are taking Windows 2000 and making a great deal of changes. Microsoft has an enormous amount of trouble doing this, look at the long list of projects started to kill off Win3.X and Win9X, all of which wound up being cancelled.
