It's not the stock price I was referring to but the reporting of profits from European sales. The value of the sales and corresponding profits from Europe went down relative to the dollar because the Euro lost value against the dollar. In other words, the products sold by Intel in Europe were purchased with European currency, whether Euros, deutsch marks, francs, etc. By the time the books are closed for the quarter ending September 30, the VALUE of these local currency transactions will have gone down simply because of the loss in value of the Euro against the dollar.
