There are so many "environmentalists" out that it makes me actually suspect that Gore invented his environmentalism to pander to this crowd. Incidentally, with few exceptions, the environmentalist crowd (with few exceptions) happens to be the most clueless abut the basics of physics and chemistry and basically have no clue about what they area advocating. The physical sciences are important for knowing cause and effect but they are not necessary to be an environmentalist. With most enviromentalists, its the scientists concerned with the enviroment who advise them of the cause and effect. Speaking of which, last week you were on a rant that Gore flunked a science or math course and gave it as an example of his lack of smarts and lack of talent in this arena. You might want to expand the possible causes for his failing the course. I had mostly A's when I starting taking Trig but generally I hated math and science even though I had a natural bent for them. In Trig my grades starting slipping in part because I could not get the concept behind it but in addition I don't think I wanted to get it. Things were not going well at home and I was angry and I wanted to strike back. Eventually I passed with barely a B but only because I realized I was hurting myself more than anyone else. My point is is that you don't what it was like to grow up Al Gore, and maybe he was doing the best he could under some very difficult circumstances. As for me I am more concerned with what he did in the last ten years then what he did in high school.PS: what was it you were saying the other day about the CO2 poisoning us? What I said was that asthma was on the rise in our cities and in the cities of most developed countries. It has become epidemic among our children. That rise can be attributed in part to the poor air quality in our cities. I am particularly cognizant of this problem because I developed asthma four years ago after having had it go into remission when I was a kid. And in case you question the intelligence/scientific correctness of my statement re poor air quality and asthma, I would suggest you ask a neighbor of mine, a 29 year old guy, but I can't...he died last year from a severe attack. But as a footnote and for the record, I would not have said that CO2 kills since that's the formula for carbon dioxide, (as well you know) and not carbon monoxide. ted
