I agree 100% -- I think it is a very bad omen for the market. A lot of cash can go up in smoke in these bear market rallies. The only point you make that gives me pause is the one about tech being the best place to be in a slowdown. Tech can be:
1. Cyclical as in the case of semis
2. Unprofitable despite growth as in e-commerce -- these companies stand to get crushed as valuations begin to reflect new cash discounting calculations
3. Subject to huge losses when growth slows and fixed costs cannot be reduced -- R&D for example.
Tech can get smashed in a slowdown.
