pronounced daanka-shown or daanka-shoon ?

Neither, I'm afraid. Visit Bruce Brown where he currently hangs out and you might hear it pronounced like Wayne was trying to say it.

is that pronounced daanka-shown or daanka-shoon ?

Neither. Umlauts are tricky. Schoen is the 'modern' way to spell it, but the old form is for the 'e' to be dropped and the 'o' has two dots or a line above it to represent the umlaut. [ö] Round the lips like you are going to say a tight "oh" as in the word 'show'. Now, with the lips in that formation, say the name 'Shane'. Do not try this while driving on the freeway, near President Clinton or while wearing a skirt. The results may not be as desired.
