When OPEC is done laughing their asses off, they'll tell the European ministers they should cut taxes.

The high price of oil and the low value of
the euro dominated discussions between finance ministers and central bankers
of the Group of Seven industrialized countries on Saturday, with leaders
pledging to prevent either from deterring an otherwise rosy global economic
outlook.

If these guys really said that, they're in more of a la la land than Gore is.

The U.S. and the rest of the G7 "welcomed" the U.S. move,

Can you imagine the US not welcoming the US move? :) And our G7 allies will always rubber stamp anything we do.
It strikes me that the European members of the G7 are in no position to lecture OPEC on anything. Should they be taking advice from people who can't keep their currency afloat?
