In fact the average grade at San Martin is more like 0.89 gram/ton but the logistics including run-of-the mine ore and strip ratios are exceptional.. When Glamis took over, gold was only US$277 and the market was almost in worst shape than now... still the deposit went for US$42/ ounces which is not bad given the price of gold... So grade is important yes..but the logistics makes the difference.
