RE: "With Intel unable to meet demand in Asia, and the US, why didn't Europe's weak demand simply get shifted over to Asia or the US?"

Hi Elmer,

I was posting when you wrote this. Am now just seeing your post.

That is exactly my question.

Re: Problem solved? I don't think so. AMD's output of K7 generation processors is anemic.

Anemic? In the first 2 quarters of this year AMD's sales are up 85%, Intel's are up 18%. AMD's profits have gone from a loss to 40% higher than Intel's, on a per share basis.

If that's Anemic, I'll take it any day - and I doubt it could be happening in the absence of AMD cleaning Intel's clock.

Now limit the analysis to operations, and redo the numbers.

Q3 numbers are coming up and Q4 numbers will follow.

IMHO, Intel's market cap will probably settle somewhere between where it is now and 250 million while AMD's market cap moves to 30 to 50 million once we've had Q4 results.

IMHO, Intel's share price will be somewhere between stagnant and $10 below where it is now, while AMD goes to 3 to 6 times it's current price.

Dan

Elmer,

AMD's problem is the inability to produce large volumes of modern processors.

Are you back at that nonsense again?

AMD sells as many CPU's as they can find buyers for.
