If Bill Gates were truly interested in remaining the richest man in the world, why doesn't he award himself some stock options like Ellison just did at Oracle?

If you have ever read MSFT's compensation plan you would find that Gates and Balmer have only received a modest salary in the past few years. No options have been awarded, and they have no options outstanding.

Also, Gates has transferred billions to his charitable foundation and has publicly stated that he will give away the majority of his fortune.

How long will Ellison rape Oracle's shareholders in order to fuel his ego trip?
