RE: SPR I agree with you Paul--it isn't intended to be so much of a bailout of yuppie SUVs, it is intended to help with heating oil costs this winter. The release won't make much "real" difference, it is a kind of jawboning, it helps to relieve the low inventory situation. Selling at prices above $35 at this point in time doesn't really bother me. We should be able to replace it in a year at lower prices than that. If Gore is elected, I'd look for another "targetted" tax--but an increase this time, on gas guzzling cars. At least it wouldn't surprise me. This time, it may actually go through. I think a lot of people are finally realizing that these huge boat-cars aren't really "practical", as so many have said to justify their purchase. They're more idiotic, unless perhaps you have 4 or more children.
