You had doubts? (Hee Hee:8)

And what's all this about "educating" the M&Ps on how engineers design to standards?? You know darn good and well that this isn't about "education"!

Nor is it even about "engineering". This is about control, and the power and cash required to acquire it. This thread ought to be named "RMBS - INTC's Id or Ego".

I know this isn't your slant, but I am ready to declare RMBS as "Dead-Dead-Dead" as its RDRAM IP. The only reason it exists at all is as a measure of INTC's thirst for control and the market's ability to turn your average "tulip" into fool's gold.

I have yet to see this company produce anything of substance with its basic IP. As best I can tell they have yet to find a market, let alone provide a product design to serve such market's needs. They have conversely, made themselves very useful to those at INTC intent on acquiring control of the memory market. In my admittedly pessimistic view, this is comparable to being the Chief Tailor to the Naked Emperor.

Its a great job while it lasts, but if the Tailor's kids have any sense they've got a private stash under the floor boards for the rainy days to come.

P.S. Please M&P fans, spare us the "This is a Great Investment" retorts. There were fortunes made on "Tulips" too. But I suspect that there were far better places for that market to be allocating its capital as well. Feel free to stroll through the garden as long as you like; but when winter arrives, don't come crying to me that nobody planted any "oaks", "walnuts" or "winter wheat".
