Another Gore lie: He said he was there when legislation was written to create the Strategic Petroleum Reserve. Gore came to Congress in 76. The Strategic Petroleum Reserve was created in 75. LOL!

Then why is oil neither cheap or abundant at this time. One big reason is all the mergers by big oil. There is very little competition therefore no urgency to find more oil because they don't have to worry about the competition finding it first. Profit motive is one reason heating oil supplies are down an amazing 65%. The market is the gauge of whether this policy(the drawdown) is working and so far it is. And i'm better off for it. I own stocks and pay for fuel products and they have reacted positively.
