Interesting note on Vaclav Havel ( born 1936)....he was a widely known Czech
playwright ( works including The Increased Difficulty of Concentration '67 and The Garden Party '69 ...)

He became a civil rights leader after the Soviet invasion of Czechoslovakia '68...and was jailed for 7 years.
There was a young Rhodes scholar from America studying
in England that journeyed to the Eastern block country's in the late 60's,
who met with Havel several times in
a coffee shop to discuss
politics and civil rights and gov't.
Though they had many disagreements...
their conversations were
brilliant and spirited.

The young American went on with his travels , taking leave
of Vaclav, who was later to be Jailed for sedition and the usual
" you goin against the grain of the party line boy"...
Corps politic du mal

Almost a 1/4 of a century later in 1992, the young American Rhodes scholar was elected the President of the United States....

...and a year later the playwright HaveL Vaclav was
elected respectively------->the President
of Czech Republic in 1993.

true story.

The young American scholar was Bill Clinton...LOL!

;-)
