The Austin American Statesman also has a story about AMD looking to Hays County for FAB 35. From their current location Hays County is about 10 minutes down I35, and would be opposite of the growth north up I35 in Williamson County where Roundrockzilla is located. Drew Prairie is quoted in the story mentioning that AMD is approaching full capacity and they are looking for possible sites for a new fab. Unfortunately this story is not available on the net.

Joe,

I more than ever convinced that the next fab will be in Dresden after learning that AMD has a good portion of its PC sales overseas. I think this whole looking-for-a-fab-site is a ruse to get more concessions out of the German/Saxony gov'ts. I think that AMD did very well on the first Dresden fab and want to do as well on the second one.

What do you think?
