Ish,

Did Acrobat fully install? You may want to try reinstalling the program. Should the error continue, try booting up in safe mode to see whether it is just a conflict with something else running in the background. To get to safe mode, tap F8 while the computer is rebooting. Somtimes this will prove innefective in going to safe mode. Should that be the case restart the computer with a floppy disk, and at the "disk error" message start tapping F8. From the Startup Menu scroll down to number 3- safe mode. Once you are in try running the program. If it runs in here but not in Normal mode, you will have to shut down programs one at a time to see what the conflict is.

If the program still gives you the error, you may want to uninstall it. Then hold down CTRL-ALT-DEL and close down everything but Explorer. Try reinstalling the program now. If it still happens, you may have a bad download. But in any case these are probably the steps you want to try to start. You also may want to search Adobe.com and look for the exact error you are getting. Perhaps it is a known issue. Hope this helps.

Regards,

Brian

OT - ... when I run 8 full metal jacketed .30-06s through the darn thing.

This is a giveaway that you carried a Garand in the service, probably in WWII or Korea. In case no one has said so yet, thanks for being there.

I combine a computer job with a target-shooting hobby. You're not the only one who has been tempted to let them overlap. I've seen video of someone hosing an IBM PC with a Browning 1919A4 ... serious wish fulfillment. <g>
