Dana:

I'm surprised on the COVD rumor that they are in play only because they just completed a 500M convertible preferred. I really don't know any more about the company and haven't looked at a chart. I do think these companies will be under extreme presure with the capital market drying up (it has for these telco's). FSIW I own some WSTL as a DSL modem play but there chart looks pretty ugly right now.

As for Hayes he is not a bear but is bearish / defensive. As an investment advisor this is rare. While we've seen many a bear fall by the way side Don seems to be more practical. He is of the opinion the bull market which started in 1982 (he called the turn in 82 a couple of months before it happened) is over. The only thing keeping the market up now is the money supply growth. Once this prop is taken away he feels the market will start the next down leg of a bear market.

Now I understand Peter Eliadas (sp ???) has been bearish for some time (I'm clueless here). Also the sign was not generated in the 87 crash. So who knows. But this is just one indicator and some of the others are getting weaker.

I would like a follow through day on the NAZ by Wednesday and tomorrow would be better.

Tim
