It's interesting to see the banter over ONXX. I've held a speculative stake for 2 years based on information like:

"Warner-Lambert will make an upfront payment in ONXX over two years totalling $15 million and will provide $40 million in funding for Phase 111 trials and other ongoing clinical developmental studies for ONYX-015. In addition, Warner-Lambert will provide support and development of two new products. In addition to the committed funding, over $100 million could be payable in the achievement of milestones for the products".- 10/18/99

ONXX and Bayer enter Phase 1 trials with a Ras pathway inhibitor sharing costs and profits- 7/18/00

ONXX extends its Armed Therapeutic Virus (ATV) platform.

ONXX adds to Board of Directors with CEO of EXEL, and President of Pharmcia Diagnostics.

I won't comment on the Phase 11 results, other than I assume Warner was pleased with the data.

I guess I'm fascinated with the debate over a $300 million cap cancer company. ONXX could be CLPA...or it could be IMCL.

My question to the discussants: How do you make an informed decision about what you purchase? What is material to making a decision to hold any biotech stock? What stocks have you failed with? What other biotechs are you invested in?

I think most biotech companies I've encountered have a patron or two among the big pharmaceuticals. But seldom have I seen much detail revealed about those deals; about the most one can hope for is a paragraph or two in an SEC filing on Edgar and a press release.

Hopefully management hasn't given away the farm. But I'm afraid I don't have anything to offer you on royalty rates, etc.

JMHO.
