Have you seen the clip on TV? The man wasn't joking. He was trying to ingratiate himself with the working man, an element he's obviously unfamiliar with.

If you get a chance to see it, look at the guy in the background on the left. The look on his face when Gore starts his schtick is priceless!

It is the repeated embellishments that bother me. If it was an isolated event it wouldn't bother me.

Considering that it is stupid for a candidate to embellish facts that are easily verifiable is stupid, then I must conclude that Gore is either stupid or pathological. I don't think he is stupid.

On the McLaughlin Group today someone said that Gore said he meant to say "Trust in the Union Label", a song written in 1901. If that is true, Gore is lying about having lied!

The lilt and cadence of what he sung was definitely the 1975 song.
