Taiwan Winbond says DRAM outlook "very good"
TAIPEI, Sept 25 (Reuters) - Taiwan microchip maker Winbond Electronics Corp said on Monday the market outlook for DRAM semiconductor chips was very good.

``The outlook of DRAMs and other components are very good,'' Winbond spokesman Hander Chang told a news conference.

``All expansion plans are smooth and proceeding as scheduled,'' he said, without elaborating.

DRAMs, or dynamic random access memory chips, provide memory storage in computers.

By 0320 GMT on Monday, Winbond shares were down T$4.00 to

T$54.50.

The news conference was called by the Finance Ministry to clarify the technology industry's outlook after a sales warning last week by Intel Corp (NasdaqNM:INTC - news), the world's top chipmaker, drove Taiwan semiconductor shares sharply lower on Friday.

ken...this makes interesting reading..later on in the thread is a reference to a message that says beware of companies that grow too quickly..It seems that success could be a problem too.. However it will balance out in time.
