Sounds like you have your AC wire connected to your fan post. Until you can get someone who knows what's what out you can shut off your AC breaker and just have heat.

You might try calling the company and have them talk you through a rewire.

The White-Rodgers online catalog states that this model has terminals for a heat-pump. Are you sure you have an AC and not a heat-pump?
