It depends on his intent doesn't it? Does he intend to say "I don't crave alcohol" (a lie) or does he mean "I don't want to drink now" - the truth. Because he does not intend to drink, and rejects the alcohol- we could infer his intent- but you can never know for certain. And sometimes our intentions are mixed when we make statements. So even though we may not be sure we are telling the truth, we may not be 100% behind a lie either. These are the gray areas. I find most lies- that are discovered- don't fall in the gray areas.
