I disagree. You need to be aware of all competition in your product area at all times. Look at the companies we've just been talking about: 12 years ago, EMC was like a Transmeta to IBM. Just 5 years ago, at least in the area Sun is cleaning up these days, big Unix servers, Sun was not much more than a cold sore to IBM. So look at those 2 today. BTW, Fujitsu just announced they're going to use Transmeta. They are in the top 3 or 4, I believe, world wide, in computers.
