Sharp/OT. Good post. This one sentence put it succinctly:

"I believe the politicos would be better letting market forces work these supply issues out."

Unfortunately the "control freak" character flaw in some politicos really goes into overdrive during the political "silly season". Do you remember when Gore's advisors told him some months back that he had to develop the "Alpha Male" image? And look at the overkill it's produced.

A candidate whose speaking volume seldom drops below the shouting level. A 24 hr day of campaigning a few wks back and now it's LOOK MOM I can control the price of oil! How about, "More powerful than a locomotive...able to leap tall buildings in a single bound....", It's Alpha Man, lol.

As many many posters here have clearly demonstrated this entire SPR charade to show Gore/Cinton as the dynamic alpha hero duo IN CONTROL of the oil problem has been greeted with thumbs down reviews even by liberal TV networks that usually at least turned their heads the other way during most previous admin schemes to deceive the public.

This nonsensical SPR release of oil in the middle of a PRODUCTS shortage is more accurately another "Alpha Man" mirage ploy, than intelligent political image building.

Not the GW is getting passing grades lately in the image dept either. This campaign looks more and more like a contest between two teams neither of which are heavily endowed with brains, common sense or willingness to level with the American voter. Just tons of adrenalin and volume.

But it IS the political silly season and this year is really a pip already, lol.

Best
