PSFT still has an opportunity to usurp the new competitors by moving upstream from the repository and capturing the linkages and transactions. Sounds good to me. Instead of controlling the repository, they aim to control the linkages and transactions to the e-commerce sources (health/life/dental insurance companies, financial companies, etc.) Maybe that's why there is a lack of talk about their HR business. They're concentrating on the new areas of opportunity realizing that the HR block is locked up tight. HR (typically not a trailblazer) has often been the driver behind many early corporate intranet initiatives to put internal corporate processes on the web (at least for info retrieval if not for transactions). Good point. HR not a trailblazer...sad but true. Vast majority of companies only give lip service to sound HR practices. I've seen little change in this outlook for thirty years. Kat
