As usual, I'm thinking about the mass consumer market , which is the source of the big bucks. However it could come sooner than my estimates. As you suggest this could put significant pressure on flash memory sales. Increasing camera resolution is a matter of "when", not "if. This all depends on whether the mass public really cares about increasing resolution, how fast flash producers can bring down prices, how fast rotating hard disk makers can improve their products, what percentage of CF is used in non cameras ,etc,etc. That's a lot of questions about a product in a tornado. The tornado could turn out to be impressive but short lived. I'm going to keep my SanDisk investment on the modest side and watch it very closely.
I've heard that the archival qualities of the new printers is less than advertised ( sensitive to exposure to light, color shifts) but I'm sure they will get it right before long.
