Mr.Mark.
Several times a day I get the message."This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down"
from Netscape.
Will erasing these files help this?

David

Netscape shutdowns. . . are you getting the netscape IPF's frequently? Only when opening another URL beyond 7 now.

Followed your instructions and created new registry entries and deleted history (only keep one day too). Also increased to 12 the MinSPs. I can at least now get more than 4 url links opened without the shut down - - so some improvement.

I took it (Netscape) out to 8 URL's and the computer stopped, control alt delete was only remedy. Netscape was shut down.

128 meg Ram, 533 mhz processor, Win 98SE system. When I use IE 5.5 I can open as many URL's as I want without this ever happening. I have not set a default browser as I use both.

Thanks for your help - -and 7 is better than 3 functioning browser windows. Probably really will be enough for dealing with the mail etc. donnacat
