Janet who?

...just kidding. LOL

As mere peons, we are all subject to the whims of those in power (holding the knowledge necessary for us to make informed investment decisions).
I just tire of the finger pointing that goes on so much on these threads.
Grayhairs alluded to this in his warning to dad.

Nevertheless, it is a fascinating subject that you have touched on.
Perhaps we could collectively write a book on the matter, using ELH as the main case study.
Mmmmmm....

Hi que seria,

<<....a mere sideshow between "material" reports of drilling news!>>

LOL! Might as well keep the sideshow going because we ain't going nowhere fast.

Here's the hard fact (for me to take, anyway): My conjecture, expressed here over a month ago and dubiously based on good drilling progress till then, that we may see a flare on the weekend of the 23rd, is out the window. I hereby solemnly pledge not to make any similarly foolish predictions in the future.

Drilling Update: Go back to sleep. There was no drilling progress over the weekend, so much so that my bird watching friends let the birds go.

On a different topic, (I can't get into a typing contest with you gentlemen on disclosure and legal matters so I'll stick to simple facts and politics <gg>), it amazes me how everybody is going gaga over the 30 Mmbbls to be released from the SPR.

U.S.A. imported an average of 9.7MM barrels of crude a day in July. By that measure, the 30MM barrels release from the SPR is a drop in the bucket; just under 10% of that month's imports and less than 2 days' worth of domestic consumption to be more precise. But the looming heating oil shortage is not a question of supply and dipping into the SPR, it's a question of refining capacity. Who is going to refine that oil, if we are at near capacity? A political gesture having been made, the stuff will just sit there and wait, or at best skip the queue and displace some of the domestic production or imports funneling through. When was the last refinery built in the US of A?

In short, pure political BS - and an equally educated market reaction.

No replies necessary, gotta go party now: 'The Energy Crisis of 2000 is Over."

Ciao, ciao bambinos
