Now that I think about it, he could be one of the unlucky ones that had visitations by ET (well a devil in this case)!

I did a calculation the other day. If there are 1000 things that could happen to you at a 1 in a million chance every day (seems reasonable), and you know a 100 people that all have the same chance of having these 1:1000000 events, and you check with these people in a year, you have an almost a 100% chance of knowing someone who has had a 1 in million chance event happen to them (of some kind) at the end of 1 year. In real terms, is anyone who believes that they have had physical interaction with a devil at any point in the historical past probably a schizophrenic or psychotic? I think we have to say "no". Poisoned, drunk, intoxicated, in DT or in some altered state of consciousness, probably "yes". Actual, physical "devil", fallen angel of God, hmm, probably "no".

Monks had an allotment of 8-15 gallons of wine or beer PER WEEK, depending upon the order they belonged to. While they used this to trade for other goods and share with the flock on their rounds for social and religious purposes, I'm sure more than one was drinking a good part of his allotment.

LOL! I wonder what they traded to get more, after the first couple of days!

You covered far too much territory for me to debate that one with you any more! I think I will just say that I accept the rationale behind your point of view, and that mine is only slightly more correct. :) LOL again!
