Ray, As we now know, that huge lower shadow really never occured in the NDX. Just on the topic of extremely long shadows on a Hammer, Ive notice that they are very reliable and dont recall one failing, but the interesting issue is that the upside thereafter was limited, which I attribute to the fact that the lower shadow already accounted for the majority of the gain for that immediate short-term swing. Where I believe it becomes more powerful is that it has the tendency to identify a mid/longer-term bottom. So I would agree with that viewpoint.
